5 THINGS KOREAN WOMEN TEACH US ABOUT SKINCARE (PART 2)

3. Education starts at a young age
Korean women learn from an early age the importance of sun protection. From a young age, they know that it is not enough to just ” rel=”noopener”>sunscreen with a high protection factor. They take care to avoid exposure to the sun and it is typical that from the first months of their lives their parents wear hats and t-shirts. Thus, they not only prevent sunburn, but also avoid cumulative and accumulated radiation on the skin, which leads to photoaging and premature aging with wrinkles, spots and hyperpigmentation in the future. Also, they often visit a dermatologist, not necessarily to treat a skin problem, but to check the health of their skin.
4. Wipers everywhere!
A handwheel is present in every Korean home. Korean women believe that the correct humidity levels in a space play a very important role in good skin health. When they are high, then the chances of evaporating the necessary moisture reserves from the skin to the environment are reduced. On the contrary, when the atmosphere is dry, such as when the air conditioner is constantly running in a room in the winter, the dry air in the environment “pulls” the moisture from the surface of the skin. This transdermal water loss leads to severe dehydration and a feeling of tightness. Humidifiers regulate the humidity in the indoor air and help the skin retain its own moisture in its outer layer.
5. Grooming as a way of life
Korean women have established that 80% of aging is due to lifestyle and only 20% to heredity. In order to get the infamous healthy glow, i.e. the bright skin with which they are literally obsessed, they invest time and money from a young age. They follow a strict ritual, which includes a large number of products. Although time-consuming and expensive, this ritual remains an integral part of their daily life. But this is the only way they manage to slow down the signs of time and ensure a more youthful, fresh and radiant look to the skin, which grows beautifully and gracefully.
