The Korean Beauty Routine Part 2!
And what happens at the end of the day after all the tiredness of the day and the pollutants in the environment?
It is very important to take care of our skin at night to rest, rejuvenate and moisturize our skin.
The nighttime beauty routine includes the following steps:
Evening
1. Oil-based facial cleanser (makeup cleanser)
The first step for the evening routine is an oil-based cleanser that removes oil-based makeup and impurities from the skin.
2. Water-based facial cleanser
After cleaning, use a water-based cleanser to gently remove oil residue and water-based impurities that have accumulated throughout the day.
3. Peeling
Korean women religiously scrub their bodies and faces to open pores and optimize treatment results. It is also common practice to remove dead skin cells and impurities using exfoliating gloves. Apply a pearl-based scrub or gentle enzyme peel twice a week to remove dead skin cells, which can dull the complexion and block pores to prevent the absorption of key cleansing ingredients. Don’t forget to use both cold and warm towels to open and close pores before applying scrubs and products.
4. Toner
To balance the pH value of the skin, applying toner is essential. This prevents the skin from drying out and drying out. Toner also helps absorb the next products you apply.
5. Essence
Essence is a mix of toner and serum. It works seamlessly to hydrate the complexion and support cell rejuvenation for a youthful appearance.
6. Ampoule
Similar to a serum, an ampoule is like a supercharged serum that contains an even higher amount of active ingredients to address specific skin care concerns. It is used as a booster for a limited time when the skin really needs extra help. By using the ampoule at night, the skin can absorb all the moisture it needs for the next day.
7. Serum
Serum is concentrated formula with an exceptional amount of active ingredients that target specific concerns – from wrinkles to dark spots to dehydration. Work the serum into specific problem areas.
8. Sheet Mask
The Korean’s beauty favorite is the sheet mask, which delivers deep hydration and anti-aging treatment. Featuring a cloth soaked in skin-friendly ingredients, the mask is perfect for all skin types and beneficial for everyone. Some Korean women even use a face mask more than once a day, no matter how busy they are.
9. Eye Cream
After the skin has absorbed the sheet mask ingredients, apply an eye cream to hydrate and protect the delicate eye area.
10. Moisturizer
Finally, choose an evening moisturizer to keep all the wonderful ingredients in your skin and ensure you wake up with a stunningly revitalized complexion.
11. Sleeping Mask (optional step)
Sleeping masks arise from the knowledge that our skin experiences a lot of stress and disruption during the day from environmental factors such as free radicals, pollution, stress, weather, indoor heating and UV rays, etc. All of these factors can disrupt not only the moisture/oil balance of our skin and its texture , but can also lead to the breakdown of skin cells, which also leads to premature signs of aging (including wrinkles, pigmentation, dullness).
Do you know…?
At night your skin has an increased cell renewal rate. This means it works its hardest to reverse skin damage, increase collagen production and fight free radicals. Skin cell regeneration almost doubles between the peak period of 11pm to 4am, which is why it’s important to make sure you sleep at this time to reap the benefits.
Even at night, the skin temperature is higher and has a better absorption capacity, making it more receptive to active ingredients, as these can penetrate deeper and work more effectively without external influences. However, on the other hand, greater skin moisture loss occurs at night, which is why it is important to ensure you are well hydrated to replenish moisture and replenish water that may be lost during your sleep.
